I have lived most of my life chasing sound. Sound is powerful—alive, transformative, and capable of drawing us toward the divine. I can hear the sound I want to create, though I don’t always produce it—but that is part of the joy of being a singer. As a tenor devoted to creating sounds—some beautiful, some honest, some gut-wrenching—I believe opera can express the divine in humanity more than any other art form. With courage, leadership, and creativity, we can move opera beyond survival to brilliance. By blending tradition, excellence, service, community, collaboration, and boldness, we let its voice inspire, uplift, unify, and flourish.
